Jim Smith’s Presentations

Classical Music
Although I have graduate degrees in history and government, I was a music major as an undergraduate and remain a passionate devotee of classical music.
For several years, I have taught community education classes designed to make classical music accessible to everyone, including those who think they know nothing about Bach, Beethoven, and the boys. My presentations on understanding great music focus on putting musical masterworks in historical context so they can be heard as products of their time, as well as timeless explorations of what it means to be human.
If your organization is interested in asking me to talk about classical music, take a look at the list of presentations I have developed and see what sounds most interesting. You can then contact me at jlsmith@zianet.com.
